Who doesn't love the Rose O'Neil kewpie dolls? Well maybe someone, but not me.  This cute pair of cards were found at Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall in Bryant, Arkansas.  Both are vintage Christmas Greetings from (I believe) the 1920's.

This little black kewpie doll seemed unusual to me.  I found him at a sale that Sherry's Primitives in Sheridan, Arkansas was having last weekend.  In fact I just grabbed him on the way to check out.  He does have the little wings on back. Sherry goes all over and finds some wonderful things and has a big sale a couple of times a year that is well attended.  You will always get some good deals there.

You know it is nice to find things that speak to you, even if you don't know what to do with them.

Isn't this little guy cute?  I am offering him for sale on ebay at brenco1.  In fact I decided today to try to sell some of my vintage photos on ebay to see how they go.  A lot will be little boys because they are harder to find.  These photos would be great to use as a mixed media project.

These are a few of the mindless things I have been working on lately.  I love fall.  The pumpkins are crocheted, something that I have not done in years.  My great grandmother taught me when I was a little girl.  The wreaths are wrapped yarn (that is a pain and time consuming).  All of these are for sale in my booth at Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall in Bryant, AR.  Maybe they will sell, maybe not, but they give my booth a fall feeling.

This is a sweet picture I found and thought I would share it today.  It would make a wonderful mixed media picture and may someday.
I am not sure why I started a blog or why I still have it?
It is here and if I start doing anything interesting maybe I will post.

This summer has been busy with softball and baseball.  A trip to Panama City was exciting.  You see I have never in my 62 years been to the beach.  The pictures are on my IPad so my next blog may come from there.

Soon.

Quilting and UFO's

This quilt (wall-hanging) is one that I started before 2000. It is a Thimbleberries design. Marie Henry had a shop in Little Rock called Stitches and she gave some awesome classes. This quilt was one of them and I really want to finish it. All that is left is two brick borders and the binding. The quilt will just not "leave" me alone.
Maybe if I do something on it everyday the progress will encourage me to keep going and get other things done. Inertia is not a virtue.

Snow Effects

This little snowman was the first one that Gianni built the day it snowed. Since that day things have really gotten behind and full of the extras in life that we cannot plan for and know of in advance.
Yesterday I came into my sewing room and pulled all the cards to catch up. What was funny was the one I pulled for yesterday was "Play With Kids". Well that is a no-brainer for me. I had the pleasure of spending the day with my grandson Will. He keeps me busy and on my toes because Mawmaw is his favorite "toy". We play Wii, well he plays I watch. You know those games are just too hard for me to move fast enough. But one thing he loves to do more than anything is ART. Drawing is his favorite. I am trying to get a box of just stuff for us to use to make ART when he is here (or when Gianni is here) so we can play. That is another sorting job for me.
Last night I went to a surprise birthday party for a friend who turns 80 next Friday. She has 7 children and they live in AZ, IND, NJ, FL and AR. All came but one DIL and a few of the grandkids could not make it. One of the DIL's organized the whole event and invited Bobbie's friends. We were the surprise, she knew about the kids. It was so much fun to meet such a neat, caring family and share in the joy of Bobbie turning 80. By the way she looks more like 60 than 80. Her plans for her birthday on Friday is to be at a place in Florida that serves $10 all you can eat lobster on Friday nights. Wish I could be with her. She and I love seafood.
Today I get to work at the antique mall, sorry to say there is no time to shop, but it is fun working there and being around people. Just no time for creativity today. Someone out there be really creative for me. God does want us to use our creativity, he gave it to us.
